Furnace Repair Boise ID

Furnace Repair Boise Id

One of the most common furnace repairs we find is flame sensors not sensing the flame.  Your flame sensor is a small metal rod that sits in the path of your flame.  When the flame heats the rod it will send a signal to the control board telling it that all is OK. This allows the gas to stay on.  Over time this metal rod gets dirty and has a hard time sensing the flame.  So it does not send the proper signal to the board.  When this happens the flames will go out after about 8 seconds due to failure to light.

What Is Done

This is an easy furnace repair Boise Id.  To repair this we remove your flame sensor and clean it with sand paper.  Re-install the flame sensor and check the system for proper operation.  You can identify the flame sensor by looking for a white ceramic base with a long metal rod on the end.  There will only be (1) wire going to your flame sensor (see below).  Do not confuse this for the ignitor which is made of sand and has (2) wires.  If you try to clean the ignitor you will break it and have a worse furnace repair Boise Id.
