Eagle Idaho Ac Repair
This is about an Eagle ac repair in which the condenser coil had been damaged. The homeowner did not know why. The condenser coil is made up of copper lines and aluminum fins. These fins remove heat from the Freon as air passes through them and if these fins are damaged they can no longer efficiently do that job. In this case, a lot of fins are missing and all that remains is the copper lines. The original call was low cooling and high power bills. The home owner stated it was just not keeping up in the heat. His power bills were up 25% from the previous year. Upon arrival we had noticed that some of the fins were missing and others were clumped into large chunks and would fall off when touched (see pic below).
Explanation
The homeowner was informed that this was caused by a male dog urinating on his a/c unit repeatedly. He seemed surprised that a dog’s urine could cause that kind of damage in such a short time frame. I explained that male dogs have a high concentration of ammonia in their urine and this is what was attacking his coil. Once the process starts there is no turning back. At this point his only 2 options were to replace the unit or live with the greatly reduced efficiency. To fix this Eagle ac repair we installed a new High Efficiency ac unit for the homeowner. His power bill was reduced by over 40%. If you have any questions about your ac unit or how it works be sure to give us a call anytime at 208 938-2000.
